BSc COMPUTER ANIMATION AND VISUAL EFFECTS: The use of computer generated images (CGI) in video and film work is now so commonplace that hardly any production passes through the post-production phase without being manipulated in some way in a computer. It is a growing area of the television and film industry and there is an increasing demand for people with the necessary specialist skills.
The University of Bradford's CAVFX course was developed in response to interest in animation and visual effects from students on the Digital Media and Technologies course, a number of whom are now successful animators, working on, for example, 'Lost in Space', 'Band of Brothers', and the Lego series of computer games.
As with all Creative Technology courses, CAVFX mixes theoretical, creative and technical skills. After broad-based core modules in the first year, you progress to specialist work in computer animation in which you study advanced techniques and their application with a variety of industry standard software packages. In the third year you put your skills to work, collaboratively and individually, on animation-based projects.

PLEASE NOTE: Many of our courses are available for part-time study over 4 to 6 years. Flexible part-time study routes are negotiated with students on an individual basis Please contact our Recruitment Manager for information.
